  • Descrizione: A little before his father dies, Nikos, being the firstborn son, promises he will help his younger brother Andreas finish his studies. He sacrifices his own dreams as well as the girl he loves, Anna, and plunges into the demanding role of breadwinner. He embarks on a voyage to the ends of the earth, but his boat is sunk, and he is presumed dead. Meanwhile, Andreas finishes his studies, becomes a lawyer and gets married. When Nikos, rescued after all, returns years later to Greece, without identification papers, all mixed-up and poor, he becomes implicated in a murder he never committed. The prosecutor at the trial turns out to be Andreas, and Nikos tries in every way imaginable to hide his true identity. Andreas realizes who he is and manages to get him acquitted. Nikos, not wishing to negatively influence Andreas and Anna’s social position, prefers to set sail yet again, leaving them in peace.
